Stone for garden projects

Due to its excellent weathering properties Clipsham Stone can be used in a variety of garden building project

Some typical uses of Clipsham in garden stonework are:

Rockery stone

As a guide, rockery stone are pieces of stone that can be picked up by one person. Usually customers bring their own trailer, select the pieces they need and load. Using the site’s weighbridge, a load of rockery stone will be weighed and invoiced accordingly.

Walling stone

Traditional cropped and sawn limestone building stone can be provided via Clipsham Stone Cutting Company who operate out of our quarry.

Dry stone walling

Usually natural pieces of stone (uncut and or unsplit) in a variety of sizes.

Masonry projects

Individual pieces of limestone bought for repairs to stonework, for signs or small projects such as steps, gateways.

Walling cocks and hens

These are slim pieces of stone that are mounted on their sides to form a ‘crest’ along the top of a wall. The ‘cocks’ are the larger end pieces, the ‘hens’ sitting as a row between each pair of cocks.

Floor tiling

Working with the Clipsham Stone Cutting Company in the quarry, our limestone can be cut to sizes to suit most indoor and outdoor flooring projects.

Landscaping projects

From large sculptural pieces, sweeping steps, grand gateways to gabions for contemporary seating.

As Clipsham Quarry we sell the stone only (of all sizes). We have a list of suppliers, masons, sculptors, builders and architects who can work on a variety of scales, who we will happily recommend for your specific stonework projects.
